The cuisine here is a celebration of comfort food classics with a fresh twist, particularly shining through their expertly seasoned fish selections and crispy fried chicken. The menu also features standout dishes like the Tilapia Fish Dinner, the flaky and flavorful Red Snapper Fish Dinner, and the generous Walleye Fish Dinner, each available in satisfying portion sizes that promise to sate even the heartiest appetites.
For those who cherish meaty, crunchy fried chicken, Sharks offers irresistibly crispy wings and chicken strips that arrive piping hot and crunchy on the outside, juicy and tender within. The sides are no afterthought either—creamy coleslaw, southern-style greens, and golden french fries are perfect complements, balancing out the rich, savory mains with fresh and vibrant notes.
Customers often praise not only the generous portion sizes but also the authentic taste and homestyle comfort delivered in every bite. Lisa Wallace shares her delight in the “really good” food and “huge” servings, while Jamisen Myers expresses love for the “real people, really good food and really great prices,” capturing the restaurant’s genuine, community-centered vibe.
Diners looking for a sweet finish can choose from popular desserts like banana pudding, chocolate cake, and red velvet cake, adding just the right touch of indulgence to their meal. While Panda Paws found the funnel cake “okay,” it’s an enticing option for those with a sweet tooth wanting to complete their experience.
The atmosphere at Sharks Fish & Chicken is casual and inviting, ideal for a quick, flavorful meal on the go or a relaxed family dinner. Though the decor is modest and the ordering system could benefit from some upgrades, as noted by customer Randin Gilg, the overall experience remains warm, efficient, and well worth a visit.
Whether you’re craving crispy catfish nuggets or comfort-driven fried chicken wings paired with vibrant sides, Sharks Fish & Chicken offers a down-to-earth dining experience where taste and value go hand in hand. This Dayton gem stands out as a reliable destination for hearty, flavorful fast food that leaves both the stomach and spirit satisfied.
Its not a fancy place but the food was really good.I had chicken strips frie and coleslaw. The servings are huge. And the prices are pretty good.
Fried fish, fried Chicken, french fries, greens (my favorite side) and many others... Don't forget dessert, banana pudding, chocolate cake, red velvet cake... I love it all!! Real people, really good food and really Great prices (for a little or a lot)!!
First time ordering from here ..since it was the end of Shark Week i thought i would try the Cod & Fries Meal along with a Funnel Cake for dessert. The Cod was big despite getting small piece meal and tasty. They have the best coleslaw. The Funnel Cake was ok ..was hard to chew on some parts.
The food is decent but is good for the price. The portions are in line if not slightly above what I’d expect for the price I pay; and that is important to me. The service is pretty good for a small fast food place located in the inner city. All in all, it was a better experience than what I expected. The only grips I have are with the digital menu on the screens above the counter. They needlessly cycle through the pages and they do so too quick for people to read it; the order taker has to hand out paper menus for people to read. Also they were remodeling during business hours which filled the dinning room with noice, dust and smoke; if the food wasn’t so messy I would have eaten in my car. They also didn’t have any outside seating to move to, that I was aware of.
